Europe Post #7: Friday, June 29

Well, Venice is beautiful.  After arriving at ~8:30 am, we walked like 35 minutes with all of our luggage to our hostel to avoid a ridiculously high water taxi ride.  Yeah, Venice is like 10 billion islands so many of the roads are water ways.  No cars at all.  Elle did a great job booking our hostel (really nice, center of town, only 35 euro/ night).

Friday, we kind of took it slow and checked in the hostel and freshened up before going on a gondola ride.

St. Mark's Basilica:

The basilica and Doge's palace (foreground):

From the gondola:

The bridge of sighs.  Connects the old courts (of the Venician government) to the old prison.  We toured this on Saturday.

And my flower obsession continues.

L to R.  Elle, me, Vivi, Melissa.  It was REALLY hot and humid.

The clock tower.

Vienna masks.

Random weird stuff in the grocery store.  Not sure what this is.

Nutella everywhere.
