Europe Post #15: A view and a brewery

Well today was a bit of an adventure.  This morning, a few of us went to the outskirts of the city to sip coffee at a cafe.  It was like 1 hour and 20 minutes from our house, so we didn't really get to stay long but it was definitely worth it.  I really want to go back next week.  Today was MUCH cooler weather.

This afternoon, the whole group headed to a brewery.  Vienna has a huge local brewery (Ottakringer) that's been around since like 1820.  We got to see all of the production equipment and learn more about the fermentation process.  After taking an entire class on distillation columns last year, it was actually really cool to see some of what I've learned in real life.  Haha.

The Ottakringer logo is this "birthday hat" on top of my head.  Whoop, whoop for optical illusions.

The actual logo.

Lots of pipes!

An old fermentation barrel.  Believe it or not, about 10 of us crawled in this hole (it wasn't very big - you can't tell from the picture) and got to be in the barrel.  Stupid - but cool.
