the perfect day.

Life has been crazy around here. Let's see…since I last posted, I traveled to a different country, moved to another state, and got a new last name.
Needless to say, I have a lot of catching up to do. Here's a brief rundown of our wedding weekend.
Friday: bridesmaid brunch, rehearsal at J&D, rehearsal dinner

Saturday: wedding!
We took thousands of pictures,  but I don't have any on my camera…so here's a sneak peek from our wonderful photographer!

The day was absolutely perfect. I married my best friend while surrounded by all of my amazing friends and family. There was not a cloud in the sky and the decorations came together just like we hoped. My grandfather performed the ceremony, which made everything that much more special. While the world tells us that your wedding day is all about you, I was reminded that the day is not about me. It's not even about us. It's about the Lord displaying his love, mercy, and grace through us. It's about the people around us that have supported us throughout our lives, and have taught us to love Christ and one another. It's a celebration of all these things and people, and, I hope, that it was a day that pointed people to Christ and served as a reminder that we love because He first loved us

Ohio: Road Trip

About a month ago*, Amanda & Corey {Charles's sister and BIL} took me and Charles on a road trip to Ohio and back.

The itinerary:

Day 1:  Drive to Huntsville to meet A&C.  Lunch in Nashville at Demos'.  Drive to Louisville.

Downtown touristy Nashville

Day 2:  Tour of Churchill Downs.  Drive to Sandusky, Ohio.

Twin spires

on the track!

Failed attempt at mimicking a jockey

Obligatory Face-In-Hole

"Props" from the infield

Day 3 & 4:  All day at Cedar Point.  And when I say all day, I mean we were there when the park opened and when the park closed.  I would post pictures -- but since many of the rides didn't even allow bags/ accessories in the line, I didn't take anything with me.  No phone, no wallet, nothing.  I probably needed one of those identification bracelets in case I got lost or something.  After the John Mayer ticket incident, I wasn't about to put anything valuable in my pockets.  But the guys rode all 16 roller coasters, and we averaged about 13+ rides per day.  The coasters were so incredible; Cedar Point basically spoiled every other amusement park I'll ever go to.  You can't beat the quality of rides.  (Also, day 4 included a drive to Cleveland after the park closed.)

Day 5:  Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Indians baseball game.  I'll let the pictures do the talking for the Hall of Fame, but the Indians game included $1 hotdog night (the stadium sold 60,000+ dogs!), a walk-off homer for the Indians' win, and a Beatles-themed firework show.

Day 6:  Drive back to Birmingham.

My first real road trip was a definite success!

* yikes, where has the time gone!?

Celebrate!

Alex and Kevin are married!!

This past weekend was absolutely perfect!  All of Alex's hard work paid off; I couldn't have imagined a more beautiful wedding.

For the most part, I just gave up trying to take pictures and decided to just enjoy the weekend.  I'm sure Alex along with her wonderful photographer will be able to share a lot more details and photographs than the few I captured on my (& my friends') iPhone.  Regardless, here are a few snapshot of the Sager-Fly wedding weekend.
