A Tennessee Christmas

If you remember last year's trip to the farm, then you won't be surprised to find that this trip was filled with lots of food, laughter, family, and picture taking.

As pictured, there was some target shooting involved also. Just a typical Tennessee Christmas. More pictures are soon to follow!

Merry Christmas

Isaiah 9:6  For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Philippians 2:9-11 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

A Very Neighborly Christmas

Last week we ventured downtown to see Andrew Ripp/ Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors in their Christmas concert. We started out with a meal at Rojo. My bacon, chicken, and cheese quesadilla was delicious and we were lucky to get a table.

The concert was decorated with hundreds of lights (just as a Christmas concert should be) and the performers were awesome.

Andrew Ripp
Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors
Drew & Ellie= cutest couple award.
We were able to enjoy the night with our sweet friends Katie and Kelsey
Make sure to listen to Drew & Ellie's newest CD, Chasing Someday
It's a novel in a sea of magazines

the most wonderful time.

Drinking hot chocolate, sitting by the fire, decorating the tree, and watching Christmas movies.
It's the most wonderful time of the year.

lights.

After reading this tutorial about bokeh photography and a little experimenting of my own, I created my own bokeh effect (using the Christmas tree lights and a coffee mug as the subject)…

{More pictures are on the way to get you in the Christmas spirit!}

coffee and a map.

While Caroline worked on her cute yarn wreaths, I was busy with crafts of my own. Here's the progression of the newest addition to my room:
I bought a map at Hobby Lobby.
Said map was way too bright and big to go on my wall...
so I cut it into a reasonable size and stained it using coffee and a sponge brush.

The map needed a frame, so I bought 8 rulers at Wal-Mart for super cheap.
After painting the map with coffee, I also painted the rulers with coffee to make them have more character.
I hot glued the map onto a piece of cardboard.
Then I pulled the glue gun back out to attach the rulers as a border.
After trimming up the card board left around the edges, I painted words of Matthew 28:19 (the Great Commission) as a reminder of the Lord's commands.
So happy with how it turned out and couldn't have done it without the help of my super cool roomie.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
-Matthew 28:19-20

Circles

Well this week I utilized my "free time" in between my exams and got crafty!  I made these cute little yarn wreaths out of styrofoam rings, yarn (shocker!), and felt.

In other news, it's officially the Christmas season!!
