spring break

Cruisin'
 We ate way too much food (and ice cream);

 braved stormy weather in Nassau;
 soaked  up lots of sun after the weather cleared  up;
 learned about life in the Bahamas;

 acted like six-year-olds;
 explored Freeport (disclaimer: although we look like it, we surprisingly were not lost at this point);
 ate delicious food in local restaurants;
pretended to be on the Titanic;
and watched the sun sink into the ocean.

It was the perfect senior spring break.

Spring Break 2012

Amplify: verb to make larger, greater, or stronger; enlarge; extend
I was blessed to be able to go on Amplify again this year for spring break. (See highlights of last year's trip here). I learned so much as we read through this book, worshipped on the beach, spent hours in prayer, and shared the Gospel. It was so humbling to be a small part of God's plan for the city and know that whatever I said to these people, it is God who can ultimately change their hearts.
The second half of the week some sweet friends and I drove over to Laguna Beach. We were able to catch up on sleep, lay in the sunshine, and take walks on the beach. And of course, there was lots of laughter involved with this group.
I'm so thankful for the gorgeous weather we had throughout the trip as it made spring break that much better.

The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims His handiwork.

spring break take 2

After getting picked up from Port St. Joe on Thursday, my mom, my sister, and I headed to Apalachicola to take pictures of the cute little town (Go here to see pictures!) and then drove to the beach house in Panama City.
At the beach...

A third grader asks me if I play any sports. I explain to her that I played soccer in high school but now I don't. She responds: "Oh. Well, you look like a cheerleader." The same girl also said that I looked like I was 12. Cool.

We go to Pier Park to eat lunch and shop. Isabelle wants to separate so she can buy me a birthday present. I tell her not to waste any money by getting me something useless. 15 minutes later, Mom and Isabelle come out of the store with 2 huge wooden sticks. Responding to the expression on my face, Isabelle looks at me and says, "Rain sticks are NOT useless." Wow.

Isabelle finds a starfish and names it Psyche. Despite my objection, they decide to try and bring the starfish back to Birmingham and raise it. BAD IDEA. Rest In Peace, Psyche.

To top off a wonderful spring break, I come home to find a princess balloon and an Ariel cake waiting for me (Thanks Daddy!) which proves my point that one should ever have to grow up.

Last Week

So, as you probably already know, last week was Spring Break.

I miss last week already.

My week: Amplify {Port St. Joe, new friends, painting, roofing, worship, driving, beach, sunrises} and Home {old friends, movies, frisbee golf, family, too much food}.

Regretfully, I shunned my camera this week and took a grand total of TWO pictures.  I need to work on this.

46 days until the semester is over.  Let's go.
